Smallshaw Cottages & Spa are self catering cottages and an on site day spa (also open to the public as well as cottage guests) located just outside Millhouse Green overlooking the moors of the Peak District. Each cottage is 5 Star Gold awarded by VisitEngland and attractively furnished to a high standard, with exposed beams and stonework retaining much of the original character.
Fully equipped, each cottage has under-floor heating and all the comforts of home, creating a cosy and relaxing atmosphere for your holiday. All our prices include duvets, bed linen, towels and all heating and lighting. Situated in an elevated position, the cottages enjoy fabulous panoramic views over the Peak District. A large garden area with an outdoor hot tub, outdoor seating and barbecue facilities provides a picturesque setting to unwind. There is also a full size tennis court on site complementary to use by cottage guests. There is also an on site day spa which can be booked in addition to the cottage to enjoy your during your stay. Ideally located if you love the outdoors, the cottages overlook the Transpennine Trail and are only 45 minutes drive away from Hathersage, the centre of Peak District walking country. Well behaved dogs are welcome, a maximum of 2 per cottage and a charge of £30 per pet. Local walks are plentiful through stunning countryside as seen in 'Last of the Summer Wine' (filmed in Holmfirth 6.5 miles away). There is an excellent choice of country pubs and restaurants nearby for evening entertainment. Nearby attractions include Holmfirth, Chatsworth and Harewood House, Bakewell and Buxton. Nearby cities include Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester each no more than 40 minutes drive away. There are well stocked shops all within easy distance. A welcome hamper is provided on arrival for all week bookings. Local information and leaflets on the local area are provided via a digital brochure on our website. As owners we live next door to the cottages and are always on site to personally welcome our visitors and are around to answer any queries. Our week lets are Friday to Friday or Monday to Monday, weekend breaks, 3 nights Friday to Monday and midweek breaks. 4 nights Monday to Friday. Arrival times are from 4pm and departure by 10am.
