Being a Beer City, Sheffield isn’t short of pubs with great beer gardens.

There’s nothing like a nice crisp pint in the sunshine, when the British weather is playing fair and there are lots of great outdoor drinking options across the city. In recent years, as we've come to learn the value of outdoor space, many venues have also invested in their facilities, to make them all the more inviting.

The Gardeners Rest

The Gardeners Rest is a community run pub in Neepsend, Sheffield. They pride themselves on the high quality of the beer selection and the regular arts and musical events held in the pub.

The Riverside

Situated alongside the River Don in Kelham Island, The Riverside is the perfect place to indulge in food and drink.

The Fat Cat

Renowned for its quality real ales, traditional pub atmosphere and industrial setting, in the heart of Kelham Island.

The Millowners Arms

The Millowners Arms is on the site of the Kelham Island Museum, meaning you've got amazing history plus a beautiful view all around you.

Kelham Island Tavern

With carved wooden bar, tiled floors and leafy beer garden, this is a proper pub with a renowned wide range of real ales that changes all the time- so there's always something new to sup.

Shakespeare's

One of Sheffield’s oldest and finest traditional pubs. Still standing from the 1830s, it oozes character and charisma, whilst also offering an excellent selection of real ales, wines and a very fine rum menu to top it off.

Alder

Alder is a cracking place to hang out. They are a brewery, pub, bar and events space down in Neepsend/Kelham Island, with a unique community spirit, greet beer and friendly vibes.

Located at Victoria Quays, The Dorothy Pax is a popular bar due to its brilliant location, charming views, fantastic live music and great hospitality.

The Washington

The Washington is one of the spiritual homes of Sheffield’s music scene. Through the years they’ve all passed through; drinking, performing and perhaps even working behind the bar. From the glory years of The Limit when Pulp would meet there, to intimate gigs from Wet Nuns, The Washington has seen it all - and you will too if you visit.

The Rutland Arms

True Loves

True Loves is a wonderful refurb of the old canal arches. Honest, humble and independent, they are a staple with local communities, but love promoting the fantastic produce of Sheffield and broader Yorkshire.

The University Arms

The real ale home within the University of Sheffield, The University Arms offers great drinks and a range of good old fashioned pub grub, as well as a decent sized beer garden for those summer days.

Triple Point Brewery & Bar

Triple Point Brewery are a fantastic craft brewery and bar located 5 minutes from the train station. They brew everything on site, have great food provided by The Twisted Burger Company, and a really nice outdoor terrace - meaning it's a buzzy, lively venue that everyone can enjoy.

Fagan's

Fagan's, formerly the Barrel Inn, is one of the oldest licensed premises in Sheffield, and is known across the World for it's traditional music sessions.

Brothers Arms

The Brothers Arms is a focal point of the Heeley social scene, with folks from all around making the trip to this fantastic pub during the day (especially in summer for the beer garden) and for their evening events featuring live music amongst other cultural shenanigans.

Sheaf View

The Sheaf View is what many would call a proper pub. Much larger than it would seem from the outside, you'll find a real mix of folks from hardened ale fanatics to climbers and hipsters. Always with a great atmosphere, you'll find it easy to get to meet new folks here and you'll wonder why all pubs can't be this good.

This community pub is run by Abbeydale Brewery, one of the best craft and experimental breweries in the country, so you're guaranteed some excellent beer, a really warm (and dog friendly) welcome, and some top-notch grub from their kitchen too.

Damhouse Bar & Restaurant

The damhouse Sheffield is set within the tranquil surroundings of Crookes Valley Park and offers fantastic food, superb drinks and a welcoming atmosphere. It prides itself on offering great value for money but maintaining a high quality menu, modern décor and always helpful, friendly staff.

The Nags Head Inn

Bradfield Brewery's official brewery tap, with the brewery itself just a short stroll away, so you can count on getting the very freshest pints of this legendary Sheffield ale.

Three Merry Lads

The Three Merry Lads is just on the edge of the city on the way to Redmires reservoir, and also close by to Wyming Brook. They serve home cooked pub food and a good selection of beers - it's a popular choice for walkers, bikers and runners alike, as well as families.

The Cricket Inn

The Cricket has long been regarded as one of South West Sheffield’s favourite pubs, with great food and beer in an idyllic location at the foot of Blackamoor.

The Norfolk Arms

The Norfolk Arms sits right at the edge of the city with great views, making it a popular place for walkers and bikers in and around the Peak District (and runners, as it's the turning point at the top of the half marathon route!).

The Old Red Lion

The Old Red Lion is a beautiful country style pub at the very edge of Grenoside. With plenty of rustic charm, some good food, and a great selection beers you can't be disappointed, especially if you've been out for a walk in nearby Greno Woods. Live music and events also take place here.
