Support from the UKSPF Digital and Productivity grant enabled Rivelin Rail to further develop their innovative technology that contributes to the safety and efficiency of UK railway systems. Using the £4,760 grant, Rivelin Rail made significant software and hardware improvements to the measurement capabilities on their bespoke railway inspection device, allowing them to measure friction and quantify track condition, for more informed decisions on friction management more accurately.
Dr. Ben White, Co-founder of Rivelin Rail, acknowledged the impact of the grant on their business: "The support through Business Sheffield and the Digital Grant enabled the business to bring in external expertise to improve functionality and reduce assembly time for our rail inspection tool. This has increased our capacity to reduce delays, prevent damage and improve safety on the railways using friction measurements."
