Take a Chocolate Factory Tour with Bullion

Chocolate lover? Fancy seeing how Yorkshire’s first bean-to-bar craft chocolate maker, take cacao from around the globe and turn it into award-winning chocolate? Join Bullion Chocolate for a tour and tasting at their new Chocolate Factory in Sheffield.

Founded in 2016, Bullion take a hands-on approach to chocolate making, using small batch techniques and craftsmanship, to unlock the ‘hidden gold’ in cacao: the distinct flavour nuances – terroir - that beans from carefully selected farms can produce.

As a result, they craft single origin batches that are strictly limited in number and represent a never-to-be-repeated opportunity to sample the unique notes and aromas produced by cacao from a particular time and place. Think wine tasting, but with chocolate.

Such is the quality of their Bean-to-Bars, they’ve quietly been taking the UK chocolate scene by storm over the last few years, delighting food critics and working with the likes of Harvey Nichols, Fenwick’s and John Lewis, plus they are now the official chocolate makers for The Royal Mint.

Located in Sheffield’s Kelham Island, Bullion’s café bar is based at popular food Hall, Cutlery Works, but they’ve now opened a second site, with their dedicated Craft Chocolate Factory just around the corner, and now they’re inviting chocolate lovers to join them at the factory, to discover the artistry and skill of bean-to-bar chocolate production for themselves.

Bullion’s expert guides will talk you through every step of the time-honoured Bean-to-Bar method, so you can see for yourself exactly how they make the award-winning bars.  Of course, they’ll also give you the opportunity to sample some of their ever-growing range of exceptional chocolate.

After your tasting session, your tour guide will also accompany you to Bullion café-bar based in Cutlery Works, (just a 5-minute walk away) where you can enjoy a complimentary mug of our delicious Ecuadorian drinking chocolate (or your choice of drink), completing your Bean-to-Bar tour and tasting experience!
