Come along to the picturesque setting of St Nicholas Church High Bradfield to hear Sheffield’s exciting and award winning a cappella choir, Abbeydale Singers in a mix of traditional, contemporary and popular choral music.
Abbeydale Singers formed in 1986 and have been directed by Lucy Joy Morris since 2020. They have grown from a group of around 12 singers to 35 members, with an excellent balance between younger and more experienced voices.
They perform a varied repertoire with an enviable reputation for the fine quality of their singing, recognised in 2023 by their success in winning three trophies at the Isle of Man Festival of Choirs, including the prestigious Choir of the Festival (photo Kirsty Prince).
The programme will include: Hubert Parry: Songs of Farewell, Herbert Howells: Te Deum, a selection of songs by Charles Villiers Stanford and Duke Ellington: It don’t mean a thing (arr. by Ben Parry) as well as other popular, classical and contemporary works.
