Jon Seaton, Twinkl founder and CEO

Sheffield makes me ask "what next?"

I feel very lucky to be able to call Sheffield my home city. I was raised here, educated in Sheffield schools and have also been able to build a successful business in the city, with an incredible team. Sheffield and its people have shaped me as a person and supported the growth of Twinkl, which now helps educators across the world.

It's a beautiful city that is known for its green spaces and friendly people, which are two things that draw a lot of people in. Sheffield’s proximity to the Peak District is also something that makes it very special. Being able to easily travel out of the city and spend time surrounded by nature is very important to me, so it’s definitely one of the things I love about living here.

There is also a lot of ongoing development and future potential for business and industry growth. EdTech, of course, is one sector that benefits greatly from this and Sheffield is becoming a hub for innovation in this area.

I don’t know if anywhere else in the world would have given me the kind of opportunities that I've had here. Although I’ve lived in other cities and countries as far away as Kenya, Sheffield will always have a place in my heart and I feel like I owe the city a lot. Luckily, through Twinkl, I am able to give something back.

I think Sheffield is an inspiring place that is full of life and vibrancy. It’s not a coincidence that we’ve chosen to keep our headquarters here! I can’t wait to see what will come next for the city.
