"Sheffield has an amazing mix of shops, restaurants and cafés that mean that everyone's individual shopping preferences are met! As one of the biggest cities in the UK, we have some of the best known fashion outlets on our doorstep, such as Zara, H&M and Primark just to name a few. We are also a short tram ride away from Meadowhall - which has shops to cover all of your needs, including tech shops, fashion outlets and restaurants - this can be an entire day out when you're treating yourself after your exam results come through!

We also have plenty of independent shops and cafés throughout the city centre and only a short walk from central campus. Many students enjoy a wander into their favourite independent café after lectures, or just a walk around town to find the hidden gems. Some of my favourites include Marmadukes, The Steam Yard and Couch, but I could name a lot more! As well as the independent cafés, we have everyone's favourites too, so if you're looking for that Greggs sausage roll or Café Nero hot chocolate, you won't have to go far!

Although we are a big city, the centre is relatively small and everything is within walking distance from university, so you don't need to worry about catching a bus just to do some shopping (although you may want one to get back home with many bags in your hands!). Our shopping experience jumps up a notch around Christmas time, with the annual Christmas markets taking place in the city centre, with independent businesses showing off their products, which all make great Christmas presents for friends and loved ones!"
